But I'm a basic user. :(
When I first read about that I was all for it, but since I've done a bit of contemplating:
In truth, what will a one-day strike really accomplish? While on the surface it seems an inspiring display of the consumers' control over the establishment, it carries with it some conflicting undertones - by making the strike last only a day, in essence we are telling LiveJournal that even when we don't agree with their decisions we'll eventually come crawling back, because they've already become too entwined with our community to fade away. I think a strike is only viable if it were to be carried out until LiveJournal released an official statement that they would take into consideration the points outlined at the beginning of the strike, in this case the proliferation of basic accounts. *shrug* but maybe I'm over-thinking it...
I actually logged on to LJ to post that I was likely going to start pushing my other journal, even for personal matter, which, other then those few entries, I have kept here.
Not that I dislike my flist, but I have simply been liking LJ less and less and less and less... I think my strike may be longer then one day. And yes, a one day strike is kind of like saying, well, OK, if I have to. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
