I watched Devin again today and we had a freaken BLAST!
He got here around 8 and we watched Spng Bob's Christmas special, followed by Dora & Diago...then we watched Lazy town and headed outside.
We kicked the ball around the yard then I pushed him around on the Wheelbarrow then we kicked the ball around some more. After that I had him to a log-roll on an old plastic barrel...he does not stand very well on uneven surfaces ;) Then he got to climb a tree (which he LOVES but is not really big enough to do alone yet)...but he got to jump down from the higher branches so I could catch him (just don't tell his mom that). Then of course we kicked the ball around for a bit *snicker*
We headed up to the barn to explore that side of the yard and found some pretty nifty nooks & crannies....Devin tried to crawl down some animal hole so I had to pull him out. Other then that though the adventure was a grand one!
On the way back from the barn we found an old tire that we used to roll up and down the driveway which was fun, other then me being the one to take it to the top of the hill each time ;). Once he got sick of that we headed back to the ball, but rather then kicking it round the yard again we played baskets with the toppled tire. He was really good at taking turns which kinda surprised me...he won of course, but then again, he was standing right at the tire and was dropping it while I was...oh never mind, he was just better at it *giggles*
After another wheelbarrow ride we went up to the fish pond and watched the fishies swim around...we hung out there till he stuck his hand in the water at which point I figured would get a good time to head back in...as wet hands plus cold breezes generally don't mix all that well.
Inside we watched Dora again and colored a picutre...she scribbled the crayons but actually did a very good job at actually coloring individual objects. The picture is now on his mom's fridge...and it was hung there with pride! Devin also counted to 5, though I think it was luck...as when I tried to get him to repeat this amazing feat it kinda came out like 2, A, 9, 4 *shrug* but hey...I'm still proud *beams*
I love the kid and look forward to next week!

P.S. Monday's Stink!
Yesterday that fecking skunk was back and it was not alone...it seems to have found itself a body-guard in the form of a coon about the size of a dog...*shrug* Oh well...more the merrier...or at least more targets *cackles* |
